Please add comments - Overall I think your objectives were very good for this group but you fell a little
short on implementing them. I wish you had a chance to re-do this presentation after clinical because I
think you gained some knowledge during that rotation which would have been useful in answering

questions. Your premise was to compare the portion size on a label with what is actally consumed then
relate it to the CHO grams and carbohydrate counting. The portion size / label reading activitiy is a good
one, and probably would have worked well with another group, but this group is so used to reading
labels and knowing what they are supposed to eat that it didnt make the same impression. I could tell
you were getting frustrated with how you were answering their questions. Be careful using the
everything in moderation phrase too often. It has a tendency to make us sound indecisive its ok to
say, considering your diabetes, thats not something you should eat often save it for a special
occasion. It is basically saying the same thing but lets them know that it really isnt a good choice.
Moderation is a very subjective term. You had a professional but approachable presence with the
group, you were well organized, your ppt was very nicely done, and you encouraged their interaction in
the presentation.
