The Network Concurrent license option allows users to run MATLAB concurrently (o

ne user at a time per license key) on any computer. This license can consist of
1 or more keys of MATLAB and any number of additional toolboxes or other product
s.
When a user launches MATLAB or uses a function from a toolbox, MATLAB communicat
es with a FlexNet License Manager running on a network server to request a licen
se key. If a key is available, the license manager will issue the key to the cli
ent for the duration of the MATLAB session. When MATLAB is closed, all currently
checked out keys are returned to the license manager and are again available fo
r other users.
This license option requires that all clients maintain constant network connecti
vity to the license server. For Commercial licenses, there is an option to "borr
ow" a license key and remove the client from the network. See the Related Soluti
on below for more information on license borrowing.
The MATLAB application can be installed locally on each client or in a shared ne
twork location. The license server itself can host a complete MATLAB installatio
n and be used as a client as well as the license server.
There are three steps to installing a MATLAB network license:
1. Activate the license server
2. Install the license manager
3. Install MATLAB on client machines
Enterprise License
A software site license that is issued to a large company. It typically allows u
nlimited use of the program throughout the organization, although there may be r
estrictions and limitations. It always foregoes the need to register the softwar
e each time it is installed on another computer; however, there might be a maste
r password that is required to activate each copy.
