Operations Handbook



INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Special Weapons And Tactics; ASSAULT division within the Los Santos Police
Department. The ASSAULT division is one of the three primary divisions within the Special
Weapons And Tactics division, the others being AERIAL and SNIPERS. The ASSAULT division
has been structed as the main and primary subdivision of the Special Weapons And Tactics
division, consisting of all members who are not a part of either the AERIAL or the SNIPER
division. The ASSAULT squad is the main on-ground support squadron and should be
considered the highest in-command in any situation involving ground operatives.

DIVISIONAL DUTIES
The ASSAULT division prioritizes its duties on all ground-related operations including (but not
limited to): Breach & Clears, Tactical Rescues, Hostage & Negotiations, Basic &/or Advanced
VIP Transportation, Bomb Defusal, Riot Control and Special Operations. All operatives of the
Special Weapons And Tactics division are trained in accomplishing these tasks, and such are
expected to be able to perform these operations with little to no problem at all. ASSAULT also
provides support to other divisions such as the PATROL division when requesting backup, the
DET division when requesting assistance or any other department undergoing an 11-99.
ASSAULT operatives will be trained in basic to advanced weapon to weapon, hand to weapon
and weapon to hand combat and will receive a broad practical training to not only evaluate but
assess the skill the operative has.

EXPECTATIONS
All ASSAULT operatives are expected to display the following:
Professional behavior in public at all times.
Utilize all forms of training during operations.
Act as a tactical operative in any situation.
Display respect towards both lower and higher ranked operatives.
Study the handbook & abide by the handbook.
Study the department policy & abide by it.
Be cautious when utilizing weaponry.
Ensure safety of yourself & others.
Assess situations prior to engaging.
Abide by orders received from high commanding operatives.
