Introduction to operation

An operation is that part of the business organization that is responsible for producing goods or
services. While the operations function is responsible for producing products or delivering services,
it needs the support and input from other areas of the organization. Business organizations have
three basic functional areas, finance, marketing and operations.
Introduction to operation management
It involves system design and operating decisions related to product and service design, capacity
planning, process selection, location selection, work management and supply management,
production planning, quality assurance, scheduling and project management.
