Procedures for the Day

1. Please review the substitute folder and
plans that the teacher left. If you have any
concerns, please see a teacher on that team.
2. Please stand at the door to greet students
and provide supervision from 7:25-7:37am.
3. The attendance envelope should be on the
teachers desk or in his/her mailbox in the
faculty room. At 7:37 please take
attendance, sign and date in the
appropriate column. A student should be
around to pick up the attendance envelope.
4. Students should remain quiet during the
morning announcements on the TV and are
dismissed to first period when the bell
rings at 7:45am.
5. Please follow the lesson plans that are left
for you and leave a note about what you
were unable to accomplish.
6. Each student has a bathroom pass in
his/her planner and must also sign out in
the classroom log. You must sign and date
the planner if they are to be excused.
7. Students should be lined up and quiet
before escorting them to lunch.
8. During the planning and teaming time,
please check with Mrs. Fringer, Principals
Secretary, to see if you are needed
elsewhere in the building. You should
remain in the building at this time.
9. At 2:15 you should have the last class
straighten up the room, stack chairs and
begin to prepare for dismissal at 2:20pm.
The bus riders are dismissed immediately
when the bell rings. Mrs. Malott,
Attendance Secretary, will make an
announcement for all walkers.
10. Please write down the names of
misbehaving students for the classroom
teacher.

Welcome

First, I would like to thank you for
coming to substitute at Springfield
Middle School. My staff and I are
delighted to have you here. My
administrative staff and I are here
to ensure that you have a pleasant
and rewarding teaching
experience. You should find
substitute plans on the desk with
activities and your schedule for the
day. If you have trouble locating
this information, please see a
neighboring teacher. We trust you
will feel free to contact us with any
behavioral or other concerns that
you have. The following guidelines
in this brochure are provided to
help support your classroom
activities.
I am confident that you will have
a successful experience and that
the students will benefit from
your attendance if you follow
these procedures.

Possession of a controlled

2. When verbal redirection or other
discipline strategies are not
working, please contact the front
office at *401.

reiterated by the substitute teacher.
