Indicators of Learning for this lesson: Lesson 1: Ss are able to identify and discuss how actions affect relationships. Ss are able to recognize the process of reconciliation/ forgiveness. Lesson 2: Ss are able to break down the parable into six sections within a storyboard. Ss are able to recognize Gods forgiving nature through exploring the parable. Lesson 3: Ss reflect on the choices they make and the consequences of these choices. Ss explore feelings of being forgiven and forgiving others through prayer. Lesson 4: Ss are able to represent and/or perform Gods love and forgiving nature in their own chosen form. Lesson 3: Coloured material, candles (electronic), paper hearts, pencils, prayer sheet and scripture.

15 minutes
15 minutes - Prior to the lesson T sets up a broken vase displayed on a cloth in front of the room. - T has Ss sit in open space in front of the vase. T explains how the vase is like a relationship it can be quickly broken by our behaviour but can be mended by bringing all the parts together with time, care and glue. - T asks Ss questions about the broken vase/relationships: o What actions might break or destroy a relationship? o How would it feel if you lost a friend or upset someone because of something you did? o How might you mend a relationship? o How does it feel to be forgiven?
- Ss reflect and create a journal entry on their own experiences of when they have hurt someone elses feelings or broke a friendship and how they restored the friendship. What went well? Why?

LESSON 2

7 minutes
23 minutes - T has Ss recall the previous lesson about the vase and relationships. - T then explains that our actions also can damage our relationship with God. T then reads aloud to Ss the parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15: 11-24)
- Ss then watch YouTube clip on the Prodigal Son on the IWB. While Ss watch the clip they are to fill out a storyboard with notes and/or pictures. - Ss discuss the following questions and record in their RE workbook: o What choices did the sons make? o Where they good choices? o How did the actions of the youngest son affect his relationships with others? o What did the father do when the son came home? Do you What went well? Why?

LESSON 3
Ss reflect on the choices they make and the consequences of these choices.
Ss explore feelings of being forgiven and forgiving others through prayer.
30 minutes
- Prior to the lesson the T creates a sacred space within the centre of the open space in the room with long coloured cloth, candles (electronic), bible, bowl, pencils and cut out paper welcome home love hearts. - Ss enter the room quietly and sit in a circle around the prayer space. - T lights the candles and has Ss make the sign of the cross. - T proclaims the word Luke15:11-24 - Ss and T say prayer Please Forgive me - T plays quiet music, while the music is playing Ss are to choose one or more of the fill in prayer and quietly prayer. - Then Ss are to get a heart and pencil from the centre of the prayer space and write on one side how it feels to know that God always loves and forgives them. - When Ss have written on their hearts, T invites Ss to place their hearts in the bowl whilst saying God loves me. - End prayer celebration with the sign of the cross. LESSON 4
Ss are able to represent and/or perform Gods love and forgiving nature in their own chosen form.
10 minutes
20 minutes - T explains to Ss that they are to create a representation of Gods forgiveness in a drama, picture book, comic book, dance, artwork or stop motion in a small group, pairs or individually. - T and Ss jointly construct a checklist of what should be included within their work.
- Ss then work on their chosen representation for the rest of the lesson. Whilst Ss work T purposefully roves, ensuring all Ss are on task as well as to provide guidance. What went well? Why?
