May 1997 - February 2000: Substitute at Lake City Area Schools.
Fall 1998: Mid-tiered at West Intermediate Middle School in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. This mid-tier
involved observation and participation in a seventh grade Language Arts class.
Fall 1998: Completed the practicum for Physical Science major. This practicum involved placement
in a Physical Science lab where it was required to observe and teach lessons to college
freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.
Fall 1999: Completed student teaching placement. This entailed teaching a Sophomore Honors
English and Junior American Literature at Kalkaska High School. The placement also
included teaching a seventh grade Science class at the Kalkaska Middle School.
January - March 2000: Substitute at Kalkaska Middle/High School.
March 2000 June 2000: Taught English at Cheboygan High School. This involved the teaching of
three Freshmen English classes, an American Literature class, and a Fiction, Fantasy and
Fables class.
August 2000 - June 2012: Taught eighth grade Science, sixth grade English Language Arts, and eighth
grade Computer Applications at Kalkaska Middle School.
June 2012 - Present: Principal at Cherry Street Intermediate.

Dock Master: Sheplers Mackinac Island Ferry, Mackinaw City, Michigan (May 1996-Aug 2002) As a
Dock Master, I was in charge of the crew that was working. I was also placed in charge of
running the dock on Mackinac Island.

administrator/supervisors on implementing strategies to align district special education
policies and procedures with State mandates.
District Coordinator, SBAC Pilot Test: Coordinated with SBAC site, other site coordinators, and the
district technology department to facilitate pilot testing of the SBAC test.
MEAP Coordinator: Managed the facilitation of the MEAP test at Cherry Street Intermediate, and
coordinated the testing with the District Coordinator.
Director of Instructional Technology: Worked with district administrators to determine the
technological needs of different buildings within the district.
Technology: Incorporated technology to facilitate better communication between school and the
community.

Regional Staff Development: This was an introductory training on Marzano's teacher evaluation model.

Elementary Principal Workshops: Ran through the Traverse Bay Area ISD (once a month), this
workshop allowed area Principals to work together to discuss local issues, and complete a book study.
Marzano Training: This was a two day instructional training on Marzano's teacher evaluation program.

iObservation Training: This workshop provided an in-depth training on Marzano's iObservation
software platform.
