Jacksonville Beach Named 13 th Most-Visited Beach in U.S.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (July 18, 2014) Jacksonville Beach was named one of the 25 most- visited beaches in the United States. Jacksonville Beach was listed number 13 on the list released by the aggregate news website The Daily Beast. This is quite an honor for us. We know that people from all over the world travel to Florida, just to visit our beaches. Families, fishermen, veterans, athletes can enjoy our shores and access other activities that will keep them busy, said Patty Jimenez, leisure communications coordinator at Visit Jacksonville. She said the state of Florida had seven other beaches on the list: Hollywood Beach, Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Clearwater, Sarasota, Daytona and Miami Beaches. The only state with more beaches on the list was California with nine. Beaches in Hawaii, New Jersey, South Carolina, Texas, Maryland and Delaware were also included in the list of 25. Of Jacksonvilles 840 square miles, 22 miles are pristine shorelines according to Jimenez. Jacksonville Beach hosts summer events such as the Fourth of July Fireworks and other events throughout the year, including the Great Atlantic Seafood Festival and Springing the Blues Festival. ### 9;< =>>?@=AB? <?'?A+?
