I Support I AM SAM

It is the right of every child to be happy throughout his childhood years. Developing the childs
self-worth is the greatest tool we can give him. It is the means by which s/he becomes happy
and successful for him/herself and for others.
For this reason, I am supporting Sam Rayla Melchor Santos Co-founder of the I Am Sam
Foundation - and her advocacies in enriching the minds and directing the children to create life-
changing awareness of their worth and rights as human beings.
One of Rayla Melchor Santos guiding principles sounds simple enough. Women and children
are the bedrock of our society and so if you improve their lives, families become healthy and
with healthy families, you have a healthy society. The opposite follows too. If we do not
improve the lives of women and children, then we create dysfunctional families and
dysfunctional families make up a dysfunctional society.

Rayla Melchor Santos will herself tell you, it is easier said than done. But she also believes that
it is something to aspire for and borrowing from a Sports ad: Impossible is nothing or as a
close friend of hers reminds her, impossible is only the beginning.

With this vision, Merci Melchor and Rayla Melchor Santos co-founded the I Am Sam
Foundation, Inc. I Am Sam Foundations main goal is to provide the awareness through
education that everyone is special, unique and precious and that everyone matters. Rayla
Melchor Santos envisions a world of whole, happy and productive women and children who
embrace their self-worth and are free from any form of abuse. A happy society with equal
opportunity and high self-esteem towards oneself with the encompassing values of compassion
and responsibility is her ultimate goal.
Nelson Mandela, a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician and philanthropist,
once quoted that education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the
world. With this in mind, I support Rayla Melchor Santos and I Am Sam Foundations beliefs.
You and I can work together in ensuring that future generations live to the fullest of their
potential and become more aware of their self-worth and avoid being abused. Together, we say
that we care and we change the world. I support I AM SAM!
