I hope all is well; I had a great second semester in my school, achieving great grades and
consistently participating in extracurricular activates.

As an IB student, I have been assigned to create a presentation Personal Project. In 10
th
grade
all IB students are required to research and present a Personal Project, based on a topic of
interest in which the students have.

Ive decided to base my personal project on a current political issueImmigration Reform. As
you might recall, one of the responsibilities while I was interning in your office, was to take
phone calls from constituents of which many offered their strong opinions on Immigration
Reform. This is one of the reasons why I am so motivated to follow up on the issue and delve in
deeper to fully understand and present the issue to my community.

As part of the presentation, I plan to create a short documentary, with clips of people that I will
interview. Some of the people that I am interested to include in my video are the following:
Politicians (Pro and Against), Illegal Immigrants, Legal Immigrants, and US Citizens. Attached
is a brief outline of the areas I am covering as part of the presentation. I believe with the opinions
of expertise and normal citizens, my project will cover all aspects of the effects of Immigration
Reform.

Thus, would the Congresswoman or any member of her staff be available for a short 10-15
minute interview as part of my Personal Project? I would provide all of the questions in advance
to the interview and make available the video for your final approval before submission? I will
be in Miami from July 18 to August 1
st
and will be available in either Miami or Washington DC
at a time that is convenient for the Congresswoman.
