Bivouacking – 12 - 13 Sept 2009

All scouts are invited to attend this annual event, the details are as follows:

Meet at Rhydd covert, normal place near Ebury rise at 5pm Saturday 12th September and collection from
the same place 12pm Sunday 13th September. Parents May pick children up early if they are busy on
the Sunday; from 9am, no earlier please. Call me to find out where we are if you do not already know.

Saturday night:
17:00 – 20.30 - Erect bivouacs and collect wood for the fire
20:30 – 21:30 - Wide Games on Ebury rise if free.
21:30 – 22:30 - Mini camp fire on site with sing song and toasted marshmallows etc
22:30 - - Bed and light out

Sunday morning:
07:30 – 09:00 -Breakfast, sausages, toast, bacon and eggs (foil frying pan!)
09:00 – 10:00 -Dis-assemble bivouacs and scatter ferns etc.
10:00 – 12:00 -Activity, weather dependent.
12:00 - -Home

Kit you need to bring:

Sleeping bag, sleeping clothes, spare clothes, waterproofs, torch, cutlery, plate, mug,

You might also like to bring:

Scissors for cutting string, biodegradable string, as we will only provide limited string, a roll matt/mini
ground sheet, polythene if you think you cant build a good enough shelter.

You must also wear your Necker on arrival and upon leaving. Please do not bring lots of sweets as we
are only there for 19 hours, you will not starve. You may however bring a bottled drink.

Parents are also invited to stay and help for the first 2 hours if they so wish! Please note a shelter
(Several tents if bad weather reports) will be erected on site if it does pour down.
