VACCUUM KILLING IN THERMAL POWER PLANT 500 MW

Following steps to be followed for vacuum killing in 500 MW thermal

power plant
1. About after 2-3 hour of tripping of turbine, observing that turbine
speed is about 136 rpm.(about constant speed)
2. CUT-OFF both vacuum p/p while condenser pressure is -0.87 mmHg.
3. When condenser vacuum comes up to -0.4 mmHg, open vacuum
Breaker v/v.
4. When condenser vacuum comes at -0.20 mmHg, isolate the both
TDBF's gland seal steam and GLAND SEAL STEAM for main turbine.
5. Both Gland seal steam condenser exhauster fans made off.
6. Observe turbine speed comes about 80rpm.










VACCUUM PULLING IN THERMAL POWER PLANT 500 MW
Following steps to be followed for vacuum pulling in 500 MW thermal
power plants
1. Open gland seal steam v/v at PRDS floor and manual drain v/v and
observe temperature of gland seal steam. Let it reach about 250 degree
Celsius.
2. Start both vacuum p/p, pump put in hogging mode.
3. CLOSE vacuum breaker v/v.
5. Switch ON the gland seal steam exhauster.
6. Slowly increase the seal steam header pr to 300 mmwc.
7.charge TDBFP's gland seal steam .
