Introduction

The EMC_SP_runtime tool allows you to retrieve the VNX Storage processors Uptime and Boot time
information. This tool was developed in relation with an ETA

Pre-Requisites

The Navisphere CLI package must be installed prior to executing this tool. It is always recommended that
the latest version on Navisphere CLI is installed.

In order for the tool to work properly, Remotely Anywhere access must be granted to the IP address
of the Workstation where the tool is executed. The network port 22 (SSH) must be accessible on the
storage processors.

Installation

There is no installation necessary for the execution of this tool. Copy the EMC_SP_runtime.exe file to
any Read/ Write directory on your laptop or Management Station and execute it.
NOTE: You must have network access to your Storage Processors from the location that you will run the
executable. Ensure you can ping both SPs before running the tool.

Runtime Options

If the service password was modified at customer site, you can use the options menu to specify a non-
default password

Collect peer SP Information

This allows you to collect both SPA and SPB runtime information instead of just one SP. The tool is able
to determine the IP address of its Peer SP automatically.

Use My security File

By selecting this option, the tool will use the credentials defined previously for connecting to your array.
If you dont have a security file, this option can be unselected and you can specify the Username,
Password and Scope for connecting to your array.
