Power and Love
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us tmid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7).
Its one thing to read something and know its true, but its another thing to actually live it. Thats why our staf team and three
students atended the School of Power and Love earlier this month. Each day, we atended three sessions focused on living
in the love of our Father. Between each session, we were encouraged to demonstrate His love to people outside the church
with words and actonswithout any fearas we went about regular actvites like shopping and eatng. I admit, it terrifes me
to talk to strangers about Jesus or ask them if they need prayer, but once I start, theres a deep joy and confdence that its the
very thing I was created for! Read this story of a love more powerful than fear...

Prayer Needs

Day 3 of the conference. I was tred and honestly not in the greatest mood. Wantng to love a stranger was the furthest thing from my
mind. But when Paige and I walked into Wendys, a young man quickly caught my atenton. I immediately disregarded any possibility
that God was leading us to talk to him. As Paige ordered her food and ate, I couldnt ignore the man sitng just a few booths away. I
fnally told Paige, I think God wants us to talk to that guy. Her eyes lit up as she said I was thinking the same thing!
We went over to ask him how his day was going. With complete honesty he replied, Horrible. Im locked out of my apartment, my
phones about to die, and Im totally highalmost as if to say are you sure you wanna talk to me right now. But we did, because God
flled us with love for him. He started talking about his fears about all the stuf on the news lately. Hed been startng to atend church
and read the Bible afer doing his own thing for a long tme, but none of it was making sense. He said he believed the gospel and had
Jesus in his life, but he was desperate to know why we could understand and know God in a way he couldnt. In the conversaton, I
felt like I needed to ask him if he was sober, so I did. He sat up straight and moved back in his chair, and with wide eyes he said,
Whoa! Whatd you just do? Youre freaking me out. The Spirit of God had made him completely sober! We explained the same Spir-
it who made him sober is the Spirit who lives in us and reveals truth to us. We read a few Bible verses with him, and he wanted us to
pray that the Holy Spirit would fll him. Afer we prayed and asked him how he was feeling, he said, Im just happy. As you were talk-
ing, it was like something moved from my eyes and I can see more clearly.
We invited him to come to the conference with us and experience more of Gods love and power, but he wasnt able to come. He
texted us a few days later to say, Please pray for me. God blessed me with a job interview! Within a week, he had a new job and a
new understanding of Gods love thats greater than his fear.

In just a few weeks, there will be thousands of new students at Purdue longing to experience the same kind of
powerful love! I appreciate your prayers and fnancial support more than ever! Thank you!!!!
