Placement courses focused on critical analysis of non-fiction texts (written, visual, spoken) in tandem with
strategic writing instruction and coaching. Provide social and academic advising for college-bound
students. On-going curriculum refinement and development. Adviser for seniors developing student-
initiated projects benefitting campus or larger community. Daily coordination of lessons, instruction,
course management and student assessment for five courses.

English Teacher at Terra Nova Academy, Morse High School, August 2007 to 2009. Lead English teacher
within highly collaborative, interdisciplinary small schools learning community focused on creating
innovative learning opportunities inspired by themes in culinary arts, health & nutrition and environmental
awareness. Developed critical literacy curriculum for multiple English courses integrating academy themes.
Co-authored successfully funded $80K renewable grant ensuring academys fiscal sustainability.
Coordinated after school enrichment activities for academy students. Developed and designed academy
print and presentation materials.
