RE : Invitation to PANDAY KULTURA A Cultural Awareness and Development Symposium for
Student Leaders

Xavier Center for Culture and the Arts (XCCA) and your Xavier University-Central Student Government
cordially invites your organization to join PANDAY KULTURA a Cultural Awareness and
Development Symposium for Student Leaders on 13 August 2014, from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the XU
Little Theatre. This symposium is designed to promote Filipino cultural understanding as an integral
pillar of sustainable development, and is aimed at forming responsible, culturally-aware and motivated
leaders in the future. You will be given inputs on the use of culture and heritage protection, promotion
and preservation in governance and leadership.

Prof Steven Patrick PC Fernandez DFA of the Integrated Performing Arts Guild (IPAG) is invited to join
us in the symposium. His works on culture and arts are anchored on development and education. Dr
Fernandez received the Fr Francisco R Demetrio SJ Award on Culture and the Arts in 2011. He has been
cited as one of the top 200 intellectuals in the world, and has been included in the CCP encyclopedia of
the arts.

For this event, each organization must send two to three representatives to join the activity. It is
expected that the participants will re-echo the inputs to your respective constituents and fellow student
leaders right after the training so that they will be able to understand the concept and role of culture and
heritage in sustainable development.
