Nurse Driven Intake
Protocol
To perform Intake Assessment in order to prioritize rooming and
determine need to initiate nurse driven protocols.
Review of Protocol Guideline: Chest Pain, Abdominal
pain/nausea/vomiting, Extremity Injury, Vaginal Bleeding
Intake Assessment should occur
when Main ED pts are in IW >30 min
including language barrier patients

light (can use a cover), look at R sensor bar noting effective
sensor, Left power bar notes time to Hgb, machine will also alert
once ready. When alert noted press SpHgB for hemoglobin
reading.
