Volume 20, Issue 6
June/July, 2014
Its so good to be back home in Marshall. Driving back
in last week and seeing all the trees leafed out on
Michigan Avenue was very satisfying, and the
flowerbeds you all installed across the city are
amazing! Thanks to everyone who was able to take
part its fun when we all get together to do
something like planting flowers that we all will enjoy
for the next several months. And member Sharon
Linklater is already out and working her magic across
Marshall its good to be home.

It is with regret and disappointment that I will not
return as your president for the 2014-15 year. I am
not one to quit anything, but with my aunts passing,
Ann and I have assumed estate responsibilities that
were unanticipated and will take considerable time in
Florida to resolve. As we both had commitments to
fulfill in town this summer and fall, we will need to
return to Florida in January to take care of family
business. Thanks for your support and understanding.

Were ready to welcome folks to our tour gardens in
just about a month. Ann and I have had a chance to
drive or walk around and see all the gardens that will
be on tour, and once again, visitors will be delighted.
Gail and Mick Woods have a great line-up of projects
to be shown at The Harvester. Publicity is going well
for the July 12 and 13 Garden Tour, the Garden
Market is coming together, tickets are starting to sell,
and we seem to be where we need to be at this time.

We still need a few volunteers to work the tour, so if
you havent yet signed up, theres still time and
something to do. Cheryl Begg and Tammy Albrecht
will be happy to assign you a task, so please see them
at the next meeting, or call Cheryl at 269-781-4855.
You can sit in the shade and help the club!

Presidents Message continued
Be sure to be on hand for the last
meeting of this year before Garden Tour.
On Tuesday, June 17
th
, Doug Crane from
Bosserds Farm, will be with us. Weve had
some outstanding presentations this year,
and this one promises to be equally good.

And we are looking forward to our annual
picnic on Tuesday, July 15
th
at Wilder
Creek Conservation Club, using their new
pavilion, out of any rain. More about this
at the June meeting, but be sure to save
the date. We will honor our garden
owners, and have a good time to relax
with them after the Garden Tour.

Again, thanks to all for your help and
support this year, and especially this past
spring.

President Steve Rhodes
