performance.
When two of the most charismatic musicians join forces with one of the greatest
orchestras in the world, the result is simply sheer magic. It is what happened w
ith this gala concert during which the Italian maestro Claudio Abbado, conductin
g the Berliner Philharmoniker, met the virtuoso violinist Maxim Vengerov to perf
orm a varied programmed filled with an exhilarating energy.
Altogether, they performed Johannes Brahms' Hungarian Dances No. 1, 5, 7,10, 17,
21 and the Waltzes, Op. 52 , Hector Berlioz's overture to Zaide and Hungarian M
arch, Maurice Ravel's Tzigane and La Valse and at last Gioachino Rossini's Rondo
/Finale from La Cenerentola.
