Introducing the New Logo

The blade of grass and ripple of water has been a feature of ECBS and the
Bowen technique in the UK since 1!"
The original idea has not changed and if an#thing the addition of the word fascia
has e$panded the idea"
Calling oursel%es Bowen &ascial 'elease Technique is a ga(e changer in (an#
respects" &irstl# it sets us aside fro( those who are )een to be )nown as
original practitioners of the technique and sets us at the forefront of ph#sical
therap# and its associated industr#"
Bowen &ascial 'elease Technique* shows e%er#one not +ust the Bowen na(e* but
what Bowen is and what it does" The na(e i((ediatel# pins our colours to the
(ast" &or those fa(iliar with fascia and its nature* it draws the attention and
allows therapists fro( all disciplines to categorise Bowen"
Understanding fascia is the wa# forward for soft tissue therap# and ha%ing spent
(an# #ears dissecting the hu(an for( to stud# the fascial la#ers* I feel I a( in
the right position to be able to co((ent about what Bowen is wor)ing on"
The grass logo is a representation of the fascial s#ste(" &irstl# it associates the
technique with nature* suggesting that the parallels we see in the bod# and in
the technique are found all around us"
The grass is bent o%er* distorted b# the weight of the drop of water" The natural
fibres struggle to (aintain their shape and integrit# under this tension"
,ow (uch pressure would be needed to create a state change in that blade of
grass" The s(allest (o%e(ent applied to tissues under tension* creates a
significant release" The ripple underneath suggests the release occurs be#ond
the i((ediate application of the pressure* tra%elling wa# be#ond where the
original tension was found"
- soliton wa%e" Loo) it up.
/uite apart fro( an#thing else* the grass and water is a rela$ing i(age* and
together with the identit# of being a fascial release therap#* is so(ething that I
a( sure will resonate with therapists and the public ali)e"
