Filing- When you are waiting
outside classroom
Because it is important to be respectful
of classes that are in session or being
dismissedwe practice filing. Filing
means you are expected to wait on the
wall quietly, and in a single-file line
until invited inside class. Failure to do
so will result in having to practice
filing before class and before lunch.

Quiet, Polite, and To the Right
Entering the Classroom
You are expected to wait outside the classroom
door in a quiet, single-file line (filing) until I
welcome you into the room. Do not enter until I
invite you in. No students are allowed in the
room when an adult is not present.
Being Prepared for Class
You need to have all of your required materials for
class on a daily basis. ISN, paper and pencil
If you do not have a pencil, you can purchase one
from the teacher with 3 KILTS. All classwork
must be done in pencil.
If you do not bring your notebook to class, you
can use a few sheets of paper for the class period,
but you may serve a study lunch detention for not
being prepared.

Entering Continued
Warm up and Agenda
Once you enter the classroom door, you will
immediately get your folder, go to your seats,
take out your notebook and a pencil. Voice level
0-1.
You will have ten minutes to copy down the
agenda, HW, TOC and complete warm up. The
warm up must be completed silently. No
questions during the warm up!
Everything you need to know is on the
board or on the projector.

Quick and Quiet
Warm UP
Getting Your Attention
When I need your attention, I will say, Please give
me your attention in 5-4-3-2-1. By the time I count
to 1, you need to be quiet and focused on me so that
I can give you the information you need to continue
working.
Failure to do so will result in loss of PAT and a
consequence for individual students.
Getting Up During Class
You must raise your hands and ask for permission before
getting out of your seats.
Only one student can be out of his/her seat at a time. If
you see someone up, or see that the pass is not by the
door, please dont ask to get up or leave.

Leaving the Room
You may not leave the room during the first 10 minutes
or last 10 minutes of class, and there may be times
when I ask you to wait a few minutes so that you dont
miss out on important information.
Only one student may leave the room at a time, and a
student may only leave the room once during a class
period.
You will receive 4 bathroom/water tickets per 9 weeks.
You need them to leave class.
Unused tickets can be exchanged for 5 KILTS.
Who can you talk to?
You can raise your hand to speak to me.
You can talk to the people at your table
If they are not at your table, please ignore them.
Even during transitions.
Never discuss anything across the room0 tolerance
and that is classroom disruption.
Exiting The Classroom

The bell does not dismiss you, Ms.
McCoy does!
At the end of the class, I will dismiss
you. At that time, students who have
cleaned up their area, packed up their
things, and are sitting quietly will be
dismissed first.

You will be in assigned seats. I will seat
you next to people that will not cause you
to be off task or disruptive. Seating is to
help you be successful.

If you begin having issues with the people
at your table, I will do seat changes.

You always need to raise your hand to
leave your seat, I will let you know when it
is time to put your materials away.

How to earn PAT
As a class, students need to be on time,
follow procedures, all assignments turned in,
and no time lost during transitions or at the
beginning of class. Each time an expectation
is not met, the class loses PAT Points. No
more than 5 incidences equals a good day.
The class will need a minimum amount of
points to participate in PAT. If the class is not
able to participate in PAT, they will have a
RISE and remediation day. For Team Activity,
students will be eligible if they have no more
than 5 missing assignments.
