Description:
In this class we will grow to become better communicators. We will advance our writing,
speaking and listening skills to better comprehend and create effective communications. We will
practice our writing skills and adapt to varying tet types, purposes, and mediums. We will
research to build and present knowledge in a range of writing formats. We will master language
skills and show knowledge of !tandard "nglish conventions and vocabulary.
Rules:
It will be assumed that all students follow the !.#.$.%. classroom epectations at all times and
for all courses. We will elaborate on these epectations as a class, and decide which other rules
would be most beneficial to create a positive learning environment in our classroom.

*older +or binder, to hold assignments

Grade Break Down:
Assignments and assessments will be varied throughout the course, but each different assignment
will have a different impact on the grade.

and a few others to help make you etra smart with words.
a. 5hese will be varied in delivery6 some will be given orally, others I will give you
definitions and you will need to write the correct word, others I will provide the
incorrect spelling and you must correct it, etc.

!. &early every month +or at the end of a unit, we will be showing off all of our new
knowledge of the "nglish language through testing. 5hese tests will also(like most
things in my class(be varied in delivery. Most will be written eams with multiple choice
2uestions, true and false 2uestions, matching 2uestions, and short answer 2uestions.
!ome will be project(based assessments.
**Disclaimer: As a whole, our dail,-weel,-monthl, schedules will form a natural routine that
,ou should come familiar with in no time at all. . do, however, lie to var, how things are done.
"ith that being said, ,ou can alwa,s e/pect a warm-up, a lesson, a cool down, a quiz, a test, but
the wa, these will be done, will be varied. *his is important to me so that no matter which wa,
,ou learn best, we will hit that wa, of learning at some point0 and also so . don1t get bored.

If you ever need additional help I can always work with you during lunch'recess if you ask. 7ut you have
