Design Statement
Iglu produced a conceptual masterplan and
accompanying design statement for a mixed
use scheme on a site along the A6106, to the
east of Dalkeith.
The mixed use proposal included
approximately 60 new homes, as well as
restaurant / cafe, shop, warehouse and
landscape provisions, including a village
green and childrens play area.
The design statement highlighted the
limited visual impact of development on
the site, with existing woodland screening
views of the site and the potential to provide
improved footpath and public transport
connections within the area. The conceptual
masterplan layout was based around a
village green operating as a focal point and
key linkage between the residential area and
the cafe/restaurant and footpaths leading to
proposed bus stop.
