Success criteria:
I know that allocation occurs when sounds at the beginning of words are
repeated in the same sentence.
I can find examples of alliteration in texts.
I can write sentences using alliteration, e.g. Amy articulately asked for art
money.
Your task:
Using the letters in your name, write an acrostic poem using alliteration, e.g.`
Laying lazily after school
Always asking for attention
Unusual teaching but understanding
Rarely rude to respectful students
Advertising alliteration to all.
TUESDAY :
Learning intention: I can recognise and write assonance accurately
Success criteria:
I know that assonance occurs when vowel sounds are repeated.
I can find examples of assonance in texts.
I can write sentences using assonance, e.g. The wind was whirling and
whirring, twirling tumbleweed.
Here are a few short assonance examples:
"Hear the mellow wedding bells" by Edgar Allen Poe
"Try to light the fire"
"It's hot and it's monotonous." by Sondheim
"The crumbling thunder of seas" by Robert Louis Stevenson
"It beats . . . as it sweeps . . . as it cleans!" - slogan for Hoover vacuum

Love" by Thin Lizzy

Write 3 sentences that have assonance in them and underline
the repeated sounds. Do this in your Reading Groups book.
