Zoom Tool (Z)


Definition: allows you to zoom into your image


Move the circle left to zoom out and right to zoom in.

2. Hand Tool (H)
Definition: Moving your entire image within a window.


This option, also print size, makes the image big enough to read.
Fit screen makes the image fit the entire photo shop screen.
Fill Screen: Enlarges it to fill the whole screen.

3. Move Tool (V)
Definition: Use this tool to move things. Especially when moving an image from different windows.

Changes the way the image looks.

4. Rectangular Marquee Tool (M) Makes a rectangular selection.


5. The Elliptical Marquee Tool - Makes an elliptical selection.


6. Lasso Tool (L) Use this tool to draw selections in any shape.

7. Magnetic Lasso Tool - Helps you draw a selection shape by helping trace certain parts of the
image.
8. Polygonal Lasso Tool - Lets you draw a selection shape line by line.





9. Quick Selection Tool (A) Use this tool to select specific object on an image.

10. Selection Brush Tool -Lets you draw a selection using brushes.
11. Magic Wand Tool - Moves selections or images.


12. Red Eye Removal Tool (Y) - Removes a red eye from somebodies face.


The pupil radius makes the pupils bigger; the darkening slider makes the area darker.

13. Spot Healing Brush Tool (J) This tool is used to repair scratches on a face, or spaces in an image.




The band aid is used to draw over things and lighten them up. The types of brushes either get rid of
parts of the picture, or add onto the picture.
14. Healing Brush Tool Helps repair larger areas of damage in images.


15. Smart Brush Tool (F)

This tool centers on a specific part of the photo, and whites out everything else around it. So now you
can only see the specific part you have chosen.

17. Clone Stamp Tool (S) - Duplicates parts of an image.

The circle makes the pixel size larger.
18. Pattern Stamp Tool (S) - Duplicates patterns or patterned images onto another image.


Blur Tool (R) This tool is used to make things blurry.

Sharpen Tool (R) Sharpens part of an image.
Smudge Tool (R) Smudges part of an image.



Burn Tool (O) Darkens part of an image.

Sponge Tool (O) Changes the vividness of part of an image.
Dodge Tool (O) Lightens part of an image.

Brush Tool (B)- Draws with the selected brush shape.


Impressionist Brush Tool - Changes parts of the image to look stylized.
Color Replacement Tool - Replaces certain colors in parts of your image.

Eraser Tool - Erases part of your image. (E)

This option makes the size of the eraser bigger.
Background Eraser Tool - Removes the background behind part of an image.
Magic Eraser Tool - Erases all similar pixels in part of an image.


Paint Bucket Tool (K) - Fills an area with color.

This helps determine the amount of paint you put down.

The solid square is for a solid color, the striped square is for patterns.
Gradient Tool (G) - Fills an area with a blend between several colors
