What is NUAMES Robotics?

At The Northern Utah Academy for Math, Engineering, and Science or
NUAMES we have many clubs to keep students time occupied after school two of
our more popular clubs are the Robotics clubs. In robotics we give our students an
insight into how the business world of Engineering works.
We have two different types of robotics at NUAMES we have First Robotics
and Vex Robotics. Both clubs teach engineering skills and team work skills but they
also have many differences. A student has the choice between the two or to join both
if one chooses. This is a great way to get students interested in a career in engineering
in the future.
First robotics is one team of students that work on a robot together. In First
Robotics the team is given a task to perform in a game and they have six weeks to
build the robot after receiving the task; during these six weeks our students build and
program the robot. Once the six weeks are up we perform something called The Bag
and Tag where the robot is sealed up until the day of the competition. Each
competition takes place over a three days period and are held all over the world.
In Vex Robotics a school can have as many teams as they choose. Last year in
Vex Robotics, NUAMES had four teams that participated in competitions all over the
state. In Vex Robotics there are multiple competitions that lead up to a state regional
which the winners of than goes to the worlds competition. Vex Robotics announces
the new competition at the end of April and give the students an entire year to build
and redesign their robots because there is no Bag and Tag event.
In order for our two robotics teams to succeed we need your help. We are
always looking for sponsorships in the form of mentors, material, and funding. We
have an entire team devoted to public relations and marketing, and are willing to visit
and present a little more on our program at any time.

What Our Sponsors Will Receive?

As NUAMES Robotics Sponsors you will receive your logo on our teams T-
shirts, banners, and website. We would love to come out and give a presentation so
you and your employees can see the robots that you helped to support. We are also
willing to bring the robots to company benefits to show to owners and customers.
We would appreciate any donation to our schools club and we thank you for
even taking your time to read our letter. We do not just except a monetary donations
we also love in kind donations as well. Anything your company has to offer us is
something we would love to be a part of.
