David Bailey
David Bailey (born 2 January 1938) is an English photographer, regarded as
one of the nation's best. He became a photographic assistant at the John
French studio, he then became a photographer for John Coles studio five
before being contracted as a fashion photographer for British vogue magazine
in 1960.
The main focal point of the image is the mouth, the mouth draws you into the image. There are no colours in the
images as the image is black and white, although bailey made sure that the black was as dark as possible so he could
get as much of a contrast as possible. The shot was captured in black and white as this was all there was at the time.
Your attention is drawn toward the person because his clothes contrast so much with the back ground. In this images
there is symmetry down his face and his body. Because the photograph was taken from above you can see a triangle
(his body) this technique again makes you focus on his face.
The main focal point of the image is around her neck and chin, this is where you are drawn into when you look at the
image. Again this image is in black and white because thats all they had when this photo was taken. Unlike the picture
above the Bailey does not have as much contrast here, although the contrast is still there. Bailey positioned his
viewpoint so you could see the side profile of her face, and see her looking at the sky.

The main focal point of this image is his face, particularly the right side of his face and his right eye. This is because
the dark face contrasts against the cigarette and his eye. the photo is taken from slightly above as we can see he is
looking up. this causes his body t create a V shape. the V made by his shirt and tie also exaggerate this. Bailey
makes the background white. this is so the black I the photograph stand out more than they would on a colourful
background. This white background also causes the image to be a lot more striking.
Alberto Seveso
He was born in Milan Italy. He first approached the world of art in the 1990s.
His passion for graphic art started then as he was very interested in skate deck
designs and the CD covers of metal bands.

This photo is of paint being dropped into oil. There are two main focal point for the images, these are the top section
and cluster of oil droplets and the bottom where the droplets meet the oil on the bottom. The oil is clear so the paints
and the colours are easily visible. He has made sure that the falling droplets are in the middle of the image, this
therefore makes this the integral part of the image.
This image is of oil and ink being dropped into water. Seveso used two different colours to create this image, red and
blue. These are good colours to use as the contrast each other the lighter blue also helps the red to standout and
therefore causes it to be the main focal point of the image, particularly the areas with the most red (the bottom of the
image). The background is made to be white so you only focus on the oils and the shapes they make. It also helps you
to see the colours better. If the background was not white you might focus on or see that first, this would ruin the effect
of the image.
This image is of oil and ink being dropped into water. Seveso used three different colours to create this image, blue
green and yellow. These all complement each other although what you find is that these colours all mix together to
create a sort of turquoise (the bottom half of the image) this then make the focal point of the image at the top where you
can see all the colours separately. Again the white background means that you only focus on the oils instead of the
'cluttered background' if there was one.
Nadav Kander
Nadav Kander was born in 11961. He is a London-based photographer, artist
and director, known for his portraiture and landscapes. His work is included in
the collections of the National Portrait Gallery, the Victoria and Albert museum
In this image you can see an old playground slide, completely out of place in a wood although it is not as this is a result of nature
taking over an uninhabited place. This photo plays with the idea of man versus nature. Nature is obviously winning here. Kandar
has made an effort to make the light levels of the photo the same and has changed the saturation to show this place is old. He
could also be trying to say that this place has been forgotten about. All the colours in this photo are relatively the same e.g. the
sky, trees, and ground etc. the thing that stands out if the only fading blue paint of the slide. This blue paint on the slide is the main
focal point of the image along with the tree almost directly centred in the image. In this image the nature and the man made
objects juxtapose each other.
In this photo you can see an old derelict swimming pool with no water. In the pool is dust and stuff from the ceiling that
has decayed and fallen in over the years. There is a diving board next to the pool. You can see all the paint has peeled
off the walls (this could be because of radiation or just decay over the years) this show how forgotten this place is.
Like the photo above Kander has kept the saturation low and the same to try and give the photo that old forgotten about
look. The only colours that stand out is the colour of the sky. However the sky is not the main focal point as the sky
helps to show and draw your attention to the diving boards and the black lines on the side of the pool, these are the
main focal points of the image.

I really like this image as it shows something new and young (the small tree) growing from something old and decrepit
(the building) It shows a new start. The main focal point of this image is the lit up window. This photo really
demonstrates how forgotten this place is as there is still old, peeling off wall paper along with the old light fittings and
even the radiator. It is as if this room has been frozen in time.
