Scenario
The education of adults in the UK is going through a period of immense change in direct response to economic and educational drivers. Often those newest to the profession have the most current information about these changes and can take important messages back to their organisations, teams and colleagues.
If the purposes of education and training are to:- create adults who can compete in a global economy; champion lifelong learning; develop resilient, healthy and socially engaged adults.
then:- what is the teaching role, and its associated responsibilities; on which principles would this practice be based; how can we develop a network of other professionals to support our role.
You can help others in your specialism / field / organisation understand these fundamental questions by developing guides that will support their understanding of such complexities. L3 Award in Education and Training Certa April 2014

This unit is underpinned by the overarching professional standards for teachers, tutors and trainers in the lifelong learning sector 2007. Revised standards will be launched from April 2014 via the Education and Training Foundation.
For pre service learners use the scenario to decide upon context for this assessment.
The guide may include diagrams to aid the explanation of any of parts a-e. In section e) the roles of other key professionals should be made as useful as possible and reflect both education and pastoral support. It should cover a minimum of 4 essential roles e.g. safeguarding, progression etc.
Please note that learners should always be required to contextualise their answers to help avoid plagiarism, ie to prevent learners from using answers that are available on the internet. Learners should be reminded that the use of such documents without appropriate citation, even as the basis for framing their answer, is plagiarism, and will be dealt with using the Malpractice Policies of Certa and the Centre. Plagiarism can be easily detected by typing a sentence or two of the learners answer into Google and checking their answer against the documents that are listed.
