Chapter 12- village by the sea

Hari was home, back in Thul. When he got home he was telling Lila, Bela and Kamal all about his
adventure in Bombay and that he earned heaps of money by working at the Eating House and being a
watchmender. He had an idea that they could have a poultry farm and sell eggs and adventually sell
the chickens.
Hari had come home after 9 months which I think is really good to him, Hari was walikiing on the busv
and his only friend in Bombay the owner of the watch shop gave him 10 rupees as a gift. When he got
home he gave lila and his 2 other sisters all presants 2 little girls got bangles silver ones so they wont
brake. And lila got a new sari
Section 1
This chapter is about the return of Hari to thul. Haris hope was to rebuilt their home
and make it bright and cheerful.
Hari met his sisters. Llila told about their mothers situation. Hari had bought bangles
for his younger sisters and a saree for lila. Hari alsotold all particulars about his
Bombay life
Hari thought that he could, repair watchers in thul, start a poultry farm with some
chickens
He said these would become successful because the factory is coming upand many
people would coeme to thul. Then there would be more watches and they would need
eggs and chickens. Lila tld about their father.
They all went to the beach to buy some fish. While they were going, lila told the bijus
great work that rescued fishermen who were lost in the sea. Lila and hari bought some
fish to cool. Lila mentioned that sayyid ali sahib helped them while hari was away.
Hari decided to talk with him after fetching their mother home

KOMUNIKASI BUKAN LISAN DALAM KUMPULAN KECIL

Keperluan mengetahui komunikasi bukan lisan dalam kumpulan kecil :

1. Manusia lebih banyak berkomunikasi secara bukan lisan (70-80%)

2 .Mesej bukan lisan lebih dipercayai daripada mesej lisan

3. Perasaan lebih berkesan disampaikan secara bukan lisan.

KATEGORI KOMUNIKASI BUKAN LISAN
Ekman & Friesen (1975) mengkategorikan komunikasi bukan lisan kepada 5 kategori :
1.Lambang/simbol isyarat tanpa lisan
2.Pengilustrasian isyarat disertai lisan
3.Pemaparan rasa emosi dari air muka
4.Pengawal (regulator) pengawalan aliran berkomunikasi (giliran bercakap)
5.Penyesuaian adapatsi diri dengan situasi

Mehrabian (1972) mengkategorikan komunikasi bukan lisan kepada 3 kategori :
1.Kecenderungan keinginan atau minat mahu berinteraksi atau tidak (posisi
tubuh dan kontak mata, atau sentuhan)
2.Kemujaraban perilaku menyatakan kuasa dan status yang dimiliki
3.Keterlibatan gerak geri mengambil bahagian dalam interaksi (semangat untuk berbual
melalui intonasi suara)

Ruesch & Kees (dalam Knapp, 1972) membahagikan komunikasi bukan lisan kepada
5 kategori :
1.Isyarat berkaitan ruang dan waktu
2.Isyarat berkaitan pergerakan tangan
3.Isyarat berkaitan air muka
4.Isyarat berkaitan nada suara
5.Isyarat pakaian

TUJUAN KOMUNIKASI BUKAN LISAN
1.Memberitahu atau menunjukkan sikap
2.Memberitahu atau menyembunyikan perasaan
3.Menyokong komunikasi lisan
4.Memberi maklumbalas
5.Memberitahu giliran bercakap
6.Membentuk keserasian

PRINSIP-PRINSIP YANG PERLU DIFAHAMI OLEH
KOMUNIKATOR DALAM KOMUNIKASI BUKAN LISAN
1.Kualiti perhubungan antara ahli kumpulan dibentuk & dikekalkan menerusi komunikasi
bukan lisan
2.Jika komunikasi lisan bercanggah dengan komunikasi bukan lisan, mesej bukan lisan
adalah lebih dipercayai
3.Isyarat bukan lisan hanya bermakna apabila ada yang mentafsirnya.
4.Tafsiran kita tentang perlakuan seseorang perlu mengambil kira konteks dan pertalian kuasa
5.Tingkah laku anggota kumpulan mestilah selaras dengan budaya di mana kumpulan itu
wujud
6. Kepekaan terhadap komunikasi bukan lisan berbeza dari seseorang kepada seseorang
lain.
