Library
The UST Miguel de Benavides
Library started in the early part of the 17th
Century. From a modest personal library of
Father Miguel de Benavides, founder of the
institution, it has grown as an institution of
priceless information resources. The Library
is known as a heart of learning, providing
services to the University and off-campus
researchers. It has sixteen sections and four
branch libraries. The Miguel de Benavides
Library houses a rich collection of around
half a million volumes of print and non-
print materials.
Mission
Vision
The UST Miguel de Benavides library envisions itself
to be the leading academic information resource
center of the Philippines by delivering world class
library and information services to meet the needs of
the local international community through service
excellence.
The UST Miguel de Benavides library, inspired
by its model, St. Thomas Aquinas, affirms and
commits itself:
to provide its client with timely access to a
continuously expanding library collection;
promote interest in reading and research work
among the community;
participate in global information exchange and
community development;
pursue the professional advancement of its staff;
preserve the rich heritage of the university.

Facilities
Discussion Rooms- Located at the ground floor of
the Central Library is the Discussion Rooms where
small group studies may be accommodated.

Individual Study Room- These cubicles are used
specifically for Graduate School students who are
working on their thesis/dissertation, foreign students,
and board reviewees.

Readers Caf- The establishment serves as a
laboratory for Hotel and Restaurant Management
senior students operated and managed by the
College of Tourism and Hospitality Management.

Conference Hall- Located at the ground floor with
104 seating capacity, this hall is intended for
activities such as library orientations, seminars, and
other related activities for a fee.

OPAC is used to access the library
collections. Several units have been
installed at the different sections and
branch libraries for the purpose of
search and retrieval information.

Faculty Area- Adjacent to the Graduate School
section is the Faculty Area. There are computers
available to UST faculty members for internet
searching and encoding purposes, research works
and reports. Lockers for textbook, thesis and
dissertation writers are available upon request.

Drafting Area- This is located at the Humanities
Section, where tables and chairs are specially
designed for drafting and drawing purposes. The
use of this facility is on a first come, first served
basis.

Exhibit Area- A portion at the ground floor of the
Central Library is reserved for exhibition and display
purposes. Other colleges and departments may also
use this facility upon request. Request for the use of
the exhibit area should be addressed to the Prefect
of Librarians or Chief Librarian.
