Strategy Name: Discussion Web Concept # 5



Brief Description (in your own words):
A Discussion Web is a strategy that incorporates all 4 facets of communication. The
teacher introduces a subject such: as the Industrial Revolution, and then introduce a
question for them to think about such as Did the Industrial Revolution help working
people? As the students are studying they will look for evidence either for or against
the question. The students breakup into pairs and share the information they found
for or against the answer. The students will list possible reasons, and then form a
conclusion together about the question.



How you plan to use this strategy in your Practicum, Internship, Student Teaching,
or in your own classroom.

In my class I would use this as a differentiated learning activity. I would use this as a
way for students to debate a subject, and learn effective group strategies. It is also a
great way for students to analyze and share information.
