Welcome to another year
of Etna FFA!

Te 27th Annual FFA Dinner,
on October 4, is fast approach-
ing. All Etna FFA members are
selling tickets, an adult ticket
cost $10, 12 years and under &
60 years and over tickets cost $
6, and a family ticket (family of
4) cost $30. Tickets may also be
purchased at the door, where an
adult ticket will cost $12, 12 and
under & 60 and over tickets will
cost $8 and a family ticket will
cost $35. For dinner, we will be
enjoying Deep Pit BBQ, with alll
of the fxings, prepared for us by
the Etna FFA. As usual, there
will be both live and silent auc-
tions at our event. We depend on
everyone from our community
members and small businesses
to large corporations to donate
items that make our auctions
possible. Each year we receive
an impressive array of items for
which we are whole heartedly
thankful. If you are interested in
donating, please contact us. Te
auction is the biggest fundraiser
we have all year; any contribu-
tion you are able to make, will
be greatly appreciated and have
a positive impact on Etna FFAs
upcoming year. Te money we
raise will go towards entering in
FFA speaking and career con-
tests, attending conferences, and
hands-on learning experiences
for the classroom.
Dinner Auction
Te Etna FFA chapter
has received a $2000 grant this
year for growing native drought
resistant landscapes across the
Etna High School Campus. Tis
grant was awarded by the Na-
tional FFA Organization's Living
to Serve: Environmental Grant
program. Te chapters goal is
for these landscapes to serve as
educational demonstrations to
the community, hands-on ap-
plication for our students, and
campus beautifcation. Another
goal includes propagating these
plants in our greenhouse for
future plant sales to our com-
munity. Te Horticulture class
will implement the landscapes
throughout the campus. Te
plan is to invite the local schools
and community members to
view the landscapes. Te chap-
ters plan is to have educational
brochures so these landscapes
can be implemented throughout
the valley
Enviromental Grant
Lots of Etna FFA members
competed at the fair and had fun
while doing it. We had many mem-
bers who worked hard all summer
to be ready for fair. All that hard
worked paid of for many of the
members, at the livestock auction.

learn and they all said that they will
be doing it again next year.
