Objective: Students will be able to
1. Reflect and create an original letter for the specific purpose of personally thanking
Ernie G for performing at Prepa Tec and/or professionally recommending him to
future audiences of middle school students which will contribute to the learning of
others and as a means of personal and professional effective self-expression.

Directions:
1.) Write a 1-2 page reflection directly to Empowerment Comedian Ernie G himself
personally thanking him for coming to Prepa Tec, OR you may also choose to write a
recommendation letter for Ernie written to the students of another middle school
recommending to them that they have Ernie come to their school.

2.) Share in this thank you and/or recommendation letter what you learned and
experienced from having Ernie G perform his Empowerment Comedy at our school.

4.) Tell Ernie in a letter directly or write for him a letter of recommendation so that another
school will want to get him to come to their school like Prepa Tec did!
5.) You can handwrite this on paper OR type it. Be sure to place the proper class heading in
the upper right hand corner (justified right) of your handwritten or MS Word typed
document (saved to your Flash Drive).
6.) Make sure you start the letter with the date justified LEFT and Dear Ernie G. Make
sure you close the Letter with Sincerely, and your name, grade level, and school name
all justified LEFT as shown in the format provided in this handout.
7.) Turn the handwritten on paper OR typewritten in MS Word (uploaded to Edmodo)
assignment into Mr. King within 1 week of having received this assignment for possible
full extra-credit.
