Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education
This form enables the preservice teacher to summarise feedback from their mentor teacher. The preservice teacher is then
required to arrange a meeting time to share this summary with the mentor and confirm its accuracy and implications for the
remainder of their professional experience. This form is not to be used for assessment purposes. Refer to Page 10 of The
Essentials for more information. The Victorian Institute of Teaching characteristics may assist in framing this
communication.

Full-time - during Week 3 of both supervised teaching blocks in Semesters One and Two, 2014

My mentor has highlighted the following strengths in my practice and understanding:


Lesson plans are evident and well structured
Class control is exceptional and vocabulary is fantastic
Allow students to discuss and think about topic areas
Differentiated teaching to accommodate all students needs
Use of variety through teaching to ensure students are kept interested
Able to change from topic to topic good flow throughout lessons
Good use of class management
Student discipline is fantastic, students respect me and are alert to new changes
Finishes lessons reflecting on what has been taught and allows students to recap their understanding of the lesson.
Feel very confident in allowing Hamish to teach by himself
Professionalism and work ethic
Student rapport and relationships
Well liked throughout staff and all students
