North Dakota Center for Exellence for Future Studies

This center is a program to help all ages, especailly

young adults, to combine education and develop-
ment for the state of North Dakota. Researching
the history of the great plains and thinking about
the idea of a “Buffalo Commons” has brought out
the need for centers like this one. In North Dakota,
small towns are shrinking and they are in need of
a renovation. This center has information on the
small towm life with the new concepts of wind
energy. The north country has great resources to
use wind turbines. Wind energy can be used with
running turbines or wind farms to decrease the
use of fossial fuels. Windmills also have a parire
history with the families of North Dakota. In this
center, with the concept of wind energy, there is the
reduction of sunlight intake on hot days with the
use of sliding panals.
