GCSEcourse.

TheprojectinvolvestheclientMaggieCoyle,Thetheatredirectorwhowantsanewbooking
system.AtthistimetheEnquiriesandbookingscanonlybemadebytelephone.Theseare
handledbythereceptionist.Theyalsouseaflatfiledatabaseforthebookingsystem.This
systemispronetoerrorslikedoublebookingsbecausewithperhapsthousandsofrecordsina
file,itcanbeaverylongprocesstospotduplicatedrecords.Soareclientwantsustocreatea
newbookingsystemtofixtheseproblems.Shewantsthedatabasetohavesecureaccess
requiringusernameandpasswordtoaccessit,toberobustandlastlyinativeandsimpletouse.
Usingarelationaldatabasewouldbethebiggestimprovementtohelpfixsomeofthese
problems.Themainbenefitofarelationaldatabaseisthatdatadoesn'thavetobeduplicated.
Reducingdataduplicationreducestheamountofdatawhichneedstobestored,makingthe
databasesmaller.Italsoreducestheriskofmistakes,becauseeverytimeyouhavetotypethe
samedatain,thereisariskyoucouldmakeamistake.

Thiswillmainlyaffectthereceptionistasitwillmeantheywillbeabletogetbookingsdonemoreefficiently
withoutanyerrors.Thisleavesthemmoretotocompleteothertaskssotheirworkloadwillincrease
meaningtheywillgetmoreworkdone.Theproblemwiththisisthatitcouldresultinalossofjob
satisfactionwhichcanhavealotofeffectslikejobstress,iftheyarenothappywiththeirjobtheyaremore
likelytosufferfromstress.Anothereffectcouldbelowoverallmoralwhichcanaffectotherworkersaround
theworkplaceforexampleifanemployeeismiserableanyonetheycomeincontacttoocouldbeaffected
bythisloweringtheirmoral.Lastlyallthiscontributestolowproductivitywhichmeansintheendtheymay
