American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
Positon engineers as global leaders, building
a beter quality of life
Pit ASCE is the ofcial student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers repre-
sentng civil & environmental engineers at the University of Pitsburgh. Members of Pit
ASCE have the opportunity to expand upon and apply the knowledge that they have
learned in the classroom by partcipatng in events such as Concrete Canoe, Steel Bridge,
Surveying, Environmental Design, AutoCAD Civil Site Design, and many other compettons
which will be held at the Ohio Valley Student Conference this spring in Cincinnat. Through-
out the year members of ASCE will also have the opportunity to partcipate in networking,
career development, social events, and community service projects related to civil and en-
vironmental engineering.

American Nuclear Society (ANS)
Promotng the awareness and understanding of the
applicaton of nuclear science and technology.
On Wednesday, September 17, we will have professionals from Bechtel/
Bets at Pit conductng mock interviews and resume reviews in Benedum 543 from 1:00
3:00 pm. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the nuclear industry in Pits-
burgh as well as gain experience and insight into the interview process for a potental in-
