Websites
Social media sites (Example:
Twitter)
Methods of Technology that are applicable:

Teachers can use Twitter to keep children and their caregivers engaged and
up-to-date on the latest activities
For example:
-To update parents about events, news, and weather of the day
-Share photographs and information from school
Blogs: (Weebly & Wordpress accounts)
Weebly and Wordpress are both websites where teachers can create posts
that are thorough and informative about the class
For example:
- Updates about homework, display of monthly calendars, showcasing student
work etc.
For teachers
-
Teachers can see how many people have viewed their page, which would
help with trying to keep track of if all the students told their parents about
the website, etc.
For Parents
-
Has an about section that allows the teacher to write about his/herself in
order to allow the parents to know who is teaching their children
-
Homepage of blog shows most recent posts but there is also an archive that
appears along the side directing the audience to previous months
-
If the parents have a wordpress account they can follow the blog and get
the posts on their main dashboard
E-mail:
-
A more professional and personal way of contacting parents
-
May be used on an individual basis or wider audience depending
