Final Project
The Art Institute of Wisconsin is located in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward, a former warehouse and
manufacturing district that has been revitalized into a vibrant center of urbanism. The Art Institute
occuies the first three floors of the !.H. "#e House $%&' (. )uffalo *t.+, an , stor# mi-ed.use building
constructed in /0&& and listed on 1ational 2egister of Historic !laces.
While the Art Institute should be commended for taking sustainable stes in locating its Milwaukee
camus in such an active and walkable area of the cit# and restoring a local historic landmark rather
than constructing a new building, this class will be resenting a number of additional measures which
have the otential to make the Art Institute of Wisconsin considerabl# more sustainable.
