On October 9, 2014 at 2157 hours, the St. Anthony Police
Department received a call to 2501 Lowry. The 911 caller indicated he heard shots fired. Upon officers arrival, they were directed to a particular trailer where witnesses heard the shots. St. Anthony officers approached the trailer and a male from inside the trailer indicated there were two people inside his trailer with guns. In addition, this male (in the trailer) said that he had exchanged gun fire with the other people inside the trailer. The officer backed out and took up a position of cover. East Metro SWAT was called and as SWAT officers approached the trailer a male exited the trailer with a firearm and engaged members of the team at which time he was shot. This male is deceased. East Metro SWAT was able to make entry into the trailer, search it, and found no one else inside. At this time, we believe that there were never any other individuals present in the trailer. We are seeking no one and there is no public safety threat. The BCA is investigating the shooting and this investigation is ongoing.
