POLICY

Welcome to my child care home.


Au Pair Home Daycare is registered by the State of New York Office of
children and Family Service (OCFS). It operates under the guidelines and
standards established by its Day Care Register division. My license will be
renewed in two years and it will be renewed every 4 years after the first two
years of operation.

This policy outlines the policies and procedures I use in my child care home.
I have met the Registration Process of the Children and Family Services
requirements from the
state of New York. A copy of the Registration is available upon request.

My Registration allows me to care for a total of 6 children, ages 6 weeks to
12 years, AND 2 additional school-aged children.
I do not discriminate in admission of children in my child care home.

I wish to thank you for choosing me to take care of your child/children. I am
here to make your childs day safe, fun, exciting, enjoyable and educational. I
am here to help make your day at work away from you child/children okay,
knowing that your child is having a safe and fun day. If you would like call
and speak to your child or to see how they are doing that is fine. (respecting
napping time).





HOURS OF OPERATION
My home is open to provide child care on the following days and hours:
Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 am to 5:30pm.
Other hours (may/may not) be available upon request according to my
availability. Please be advised that for before hours child care, there will be a
fee of $15 for up to 1 hour of child care.

MEALS
I participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and I am
required to serve nutritious, well-balanced meals and snacks. I serve a variety
of meals and healthy snacks which will posted at my home every week.
If any baby bottles are brought from home, they must be labeled with the
childs name. Please check with me before sending baby bottles from home.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
Each child is provided with a safe and comfortable sleeping space with
separate bedding.

CLOTHING AND SUPPLIES
For infants and toddlers, please provide: disposable diapers, wipes, baby
bottles, a blanket sleeper, and two sets of extra clothes. For older children,
please provide an extra set of clothes and a blanket. During cold weather
please send hat, mittens, warms jackets, snow pants, and boots.

EMERGENCY
If I must leave for an emergency, I will call each parent and let them know
about my emergency and I will wait until every parent arrive to pick up their
child.
If I am ill, I will notify you so that you can make other arrangements.
I am required to conduct monthly evacuation fire drills during the hours of
daycare operation.


MEDICAL
I will notify you immediately if your child has any of the following
conditions:
A-an underarm temperature of 100, an oral or ear temperature of 101 or
higher;
B- is vomiting;
C- has diarrhea; or
D- has a rash other than a heat-related rash.

In any of these situations mentioned above, I will expect you to make
arrangements to come and take your child home as soon as possible.
Children may not attend to day care if they have any of the symptoms above
and for the following reasons:
A-Pink eye;
B- Eyes or ears draining;
C- Head lice.

The Admission and Arrangements form and the Immunization form must be
completed for each child before attending my day care.

CHILD ABUSE AND MALTREATMENT
I am required to immediately report any suspected incidents of child abuse or
maltreatment concerning a child receiving child day care to the Statewide
Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment or cause such a report to
be made when I have reasonable cause to suspect that a child coming before
them in their capacity as a caregiver in a family day care is an abused or
maltreated child, according with the provisions of sections 413 and 415 of the
Social Services Law of New York.
So please, explain any unusual injury to me before leaving your child at our
Day Care Home.
TRANSPORTATION
If I do transport your child I will:
A. Require your written permission to transport your child.
B.Use proper individual carseat/booster seat/seat belts when transporting
your child.

PICK-UP POLICY
I will not let anyone pick your child up except you. In the event you want
someone else to pick-up your child I will need written authorization from you
and an introduction to or description of this person.

PETS
I have 1 rabbits in my home. She is up to date with all required vaccines.


SUPERVISION
I am required to be within sight or hearing of infants, toddlers, and pre-
schooler at all times. I am required to be available for assistance and care for
school age children.
School age children will not leave my property even with your written
permission.

DISCIPLINE
I would like to know your views on behavioral guidance and
the types of behavioral guidance used in your home. I am not allowed to use
any type of physical discipline, such as hand slapping, spanking, hitting,
pinching, biting, etc., with the child care children or any other children.
Please do not ask me to use these methods. I will not do or say anything that
will threaten, frighten, or humiliate your child. I will use verbal messages, a
short time away from activities (one minute per age of child), or take away
use of toys or other items. I will reward positive behaviors.

ACTIVITIES
Activities are an important part of my child care program. They are
informally structured to meet the needs of children of various ages
and interests. Television viewing is not allowed in my daycare. We will also
to spend some time outside every day, weather permitting.
The day care will supply your child with an atmosphere for age appropriate
learning experiences, discipline, arts and crafts, outdoor play, some organized
time, free and the following: cots for sleeping, meals, age appropriate toys.
I will also supply lots of love, cuddles, a safe place to play, sleep and eat,
nurturing, discipline in a way that will promote positive self-esteem in
children in such a way as to help each other develop self-control and assume
responsibility for his or her actions through clear and consistent rules and
limits appropriate to the ages and development of the children in care.
The most important things we want to give to your child, next to safety, is a
fun place to come to, a place they want to be while you are away from them.

7:30- Free Play/breakfast time
8:00- Reading Time
8:30- Outdoor/Indoor play
9:30- Morning Snack
10:00- Arts and crafts time
11:00- Clean up time
11:30- Lunch time
12:30- Story time
1:00- Nap time
2:00- Snack time
2:30- Portuguese/ Sign language

3:00- Outdoor/Indoor play
3:30- Learning activities time
4:30- Board game time
5:00- Music time
5:30- Free play

(Schedule may change for School
Age children)
FEES
I will notify you 8 weeks in advance of any changes in my rates. Rates will
increase once a year.

My rates are:
$200.00 per week for children from 12 months to 11 years old enrolled full
time in my daycare;
$150.00 per week for children from 18 months to 12 years old enrolled part
time in my day care for up to 30 hours per week and no more than 3 days a
week.
$100.00 per week for a school-age child for up to 15 hours per week.
$40,00 per day.
$10,00 per hour.

I will round up to the nearest hour daily.

Your childrens contracted hours are:

Any time after your scheduled time will be considered overtime. There will
be an additional charge of $ 10 for overtime after 10 minutes that you are late
to pick up your child and an additional $7 for every 10 additional minutes.
In case of a serious accident or something of this nature, that direct involves
the person who is picking up the child, you may be except from this rule.

I require that THE PAYMENT be made to me on: MONDAYS.
First payment is due on the first Monday in advance of the first week
your child starts attending to day care. Returned checks fee assessed a
$35.00 fee.
PAID HOLIDAYS
I am closed the following holidays:
New Years Eve and on New Years Day;
Memorial Day;
Independence Day;
Labor Day;
Forth of July;
Thanksgivings;
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

I will still charge the holidays day at my regular rate if the holidays
mentioned above fall on a weekday. If a holiday fall on a Thursday and I
decide to close my daycare also on Friday, you will not need to pay for
Friday.

VACATIONS
I will notify you at least 8 weeks in advance of my vacations so you can
make back-up arrangements.
If you are taking two weeks or more of vacation, please make a written notice
within at least 6 weeks in advance so I can plan a replacement for those
weeks that your child will not attend to day care, otherwise you will have to
pay for these two weeks of vacation.
If you take only one week of vacation, you must pay for the week even if you
make a written notice within 6 week or not. But you still must make a written
notice of your one week vacation.

TRIAL PERIOD
Since an adjustment period is necessary, lets try out this agreement for 2
weeks. If it is not satisfactory, we both have the right to terminate this
agreement within that period, with no further obligations.

GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE (R)
If you have a problem with anything that occurs in my day care home, please
let me know and I will schedule a time that we can meet and discuss your
concerns. After we meet, I will consider the situation and make a final
decision. I will notify you in writing of the decision I make.

TERMINATIONS
I require a two weeks written notice in advance of any terminations, so I can
plan accordingly. If none is given, two weeks payment must be made,
whether your child is present or not. If less than two weeks written notice is
given, payment must be made for any time short of the two weeks notice.
If I find that I can no longer care for your children, I will give you a two
weeks written notice.

COMMUNICATIONS
It is essential that we communicate regularly, preferably daily, about your
childs day in my home, as well as his/her time at home. If I am busy at drop-
off or pick-up time, or if you are in a hurry, please call me at the following
times: From 5 and 5 30 pm or send me an e-mail. I will at least send you an
email saying about your childs day if I dont get a chance at pick-up time.

SMOKING
Smoking is NOT allowed in my child care home.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY (S)
I, and any employees or volunteers in my day care will not use non-
prescribed mood altering medications, illegal drugs, or alcohol during the
hours of day care operation.

SIGNATURE:
By signing this policy, the parent(s)/guardian(s) agree to abide by these
policies of the provider.
Our agreement takes effect on ___/___/___ and will remain in effect until
written notice is received or given. All agreements will be reviewed at least
once a year and changes may be done as regulations are also always
changing.

Contract
