Ouruniversestartedwithanexplosionknownasthebigbang.Thiswas
followedbyinflation:aperiodofrapidexpansion.Inthistalk,Iwillexplainthe
classicaltheoryofinflation.Iwillthenmoveontodescribeanewkindofinflation
calledpolymerinflation.Thisarisesastheresultofanewquantizationscheme:
PolymerQuantization,inwhichthereisafundamentalmassscale.Someofthe
attractivefeaturesofpolymerinflationare:theexistenceofsufficientinflation,
noneedtofinetuneparameterstoobtaininflationandanaturalendtoinflation.
