WORK EXPERIENCE
Microsoft- Project Manager Intern Summer 2014 Worked as a part of the Social Team on designing and managing implementation of features for MSN and Bing Apps. Tasks included sketching new features, talking to all other teams involved, working with developers, presenting ideas to leadership team, and participating in daily scrum meetings.
Sea Grant at MIT Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Lab Intern Summer 2013 Redesigned an ROV so that it could be used in high schools. Made the vehicle easer to fabricate and assemble while also making sure the vehicle could run reliably. Created a detailed assembly manual.
Course Assistant 2013- Worked as a course assistant for Design Nature (first-year design course), Systems, and Teaching & Learning. Responsibilities included helping students with CAD, answering questions about the design process, and running tutorials outside of class.
PROJECTS AND LEADERSHIP
Boeing SCOPE Team Fall 2014 Member of the Senior Capstone Program in Engineering (SCOPE) Boeing team. Working on a yearlong project with the Advanced Manufacturing Team for the 737. Responsibilities include running daily meetings and working on mechanical design components of the project.
SAE Mini Baja (Phoenix Racing) Fabrication Manager 2013- Worked on designing and fabricating parts on the drivetrain subsystem for our off-road vehicle. Currently one of the three team captains and am specifically in charge of overseeing all fabrication.
Jimmy the Robot Fall 2013 Worked on an open-source, humanoid robot for Intel as a part of Mechanical Design course. Primarily worked on the mechanisms for the neck and wrists. Robot was designed to be 3D printed.
Tuna Tag Redesign Fall 2013 Worked with Professor Andrew Bennett and the UMass Large Pelagics Research Center to redesign the shape of tuna tracking tags and fix the current major design flaws. Prototyped new casing shapes for tags and performed testing in a wind tunnel to analyze the effectiveness.
Education Research Group Fall 2011- Member of research team under the supervision of Professor Yevgeniya Zastavker to student engineering education and project based learning at three universities. Published in Frontiers in Education as second author and presented in Seattle in Fall 2012.
Student Government - Class Representative Fall 2013- Representing the Class of 2015 in our student government. Work to support student initiatives. SKILLS
