Thank you!

1. Which iPad/technology skill were you learning more about?
I was learning about the online tool EDpuzzle
2. What sort of assistance did you seek?
During a large group session/lecture, we were invited to arrange a one-
on-one meeting/tutorial. I took the opportunity for a one-on-one session
to confirm that I was able to use this online tool (highlighted in the
large group session) and to support/fix the way I was using this tool
(practice/play) before the one-on-one meeting.

I needed to know how particular things worked, when I wasnt working
them properly (eg, the recording tool) and to what degree the students
would be able to use the EDpuzzle tool; with regard to both the skills
they had to learn and the capacity of our school technology network.
3. How did you practice your skills?
I practiced the skills learnt in two ways:
1. I made mock lessons and uploaded them, then I made actual
lessons and tested them on a few students whom I knew would
be able to access the technology.
2. I created a variety of activities that the students could use,
then reassessed the way I had used the EDpuzzle tool with
reference to the students use and non-use of the activities I
designed.
4. What was the outcome of your new skill (in the classroom, in record-
keeping, etc)
I found that EDpuzzle is limited by our technology network (internet
speed, etc). That it requires much more scaffolding and assistant
supportive documentation/filing extrinsic to the tool itself (despite the
fact that it is relatively easy to use). That I stopped using it sooner
than I anticipated because the students stopped using it properly, both
out of boredom and relative frustration.
5. What is the next step for you in regards to your technology skills?
I need to make a conscious effort to use the tool in a summative
(assessment style) manner, rather than developmental.
