Introduction:
Michael Romanov started it all
Until 1645, when his life came to a fall.
Decades later, Peter Romanov started to rule.
Trying to westernize the nation, it wasnt too cool.
Taxing the population who tried to resist
He did many things for Russia, theres a very long list.

Introducing newspapers, and establishing the first secular school,
While forcing them to change, some things he enforced were often called cruel.
Only one year passed without war within Peters reign,
Russia was significantly changed in the era due to the leaders ideas and brains.

When Peter died, he left behind ten kids,
Leaving his wife Catherine l to rule,
Becoming the first female in power, and thats what she did.
They had an up-to-date Russian Navy,
The country can thank Peter the great for this,
And even the Great Northern War maybe.
As more Lutheran churches began to emerge,
Leaving those of the Muscovite tradition wanting to diverse.

The Romanov Dynasty lasted up until 1917,
Before that being a prominent clan of boyars in the fourteenth through sixteenth centuries
Going back to Peter, he created the Grand Embassy
Which he traveled through Europe, trying to do so secretly.
He was tall for that time, making the secret unsuccessful,
This problem didnt make his job any less stressful.
He came back with knowledge that he learned in the West
Building boats, new clothing for his people, which he thought was all the best.
St. Petersburg changed to the capitol and is by the Baltic Sea,
Boyers were forced to live here, and thats why it still happens to be.
Even today Russia is still one of the most powerful countries,
Now at this point, the people in this area consider themselves lucky.
