The Availability of HIV medication is making people to be more comfortable with the idea of
HIV.In your opinion, is this good or bad? Why?
Human immunodeficiency virus or we all know it as HIV, lenti-virus that can resist
drugs and it causes AIDS , or known as Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. People get
infected with HIV through sexual activities, pregnant mother to fetus, sharing needles,
particularity, heroine addicts. AIDS is a syndrome when white blood cells have been
destroyed by HIV virus and as a result, our body has no immune system because the T-cells
have been destroyed by the HIV . Therefore, we can easily get infected with diseases occur
when their immune system has weakened called as opportunistic infections .At the end of
2011 we have saw that 34 million people were living with HIV worldwide and more than 25
million people died because of HIV/AIDS since 1981.
I believe that people becoming more comfortable with the idea of HIV medication is
bad because, people will live an unprotected lifestyle and more people will be infected with
HIV/AIDS .Because of HIV medication, people will lead a more unprotected lifestyle
believing that the medication will cure them but most of the HIV drugs do not cure HIV, it
just fight infections, decrease the number of viruses and improve quality of life . People will
treat the disease as something normal and will forget to protect themselves and lead a
riskier lifestyle by not using condoms, by sharing needles and not attending regular
screenings. Therefore, this will lead to larger number of HIV cases and things became worse.
The larger number of HIV cases will also includes adult, teenagers, gays, prostitutes resulting
in more opportunistic infection and more deaths. But if people are not comfortable with the
idea, the AIDS cases will decrease for example, Thailand is a country that have a low stat of
people with AIDS because Thailand have promote to use a condom and Thailand also
successful in HIV prevention campaigns that helped decrease number of HIV .Promote
people with AIDS will not be treated properly in society, and society will be destroyed think
about some people with no way out will turn to prostitution because of HIV medication and
easy money.
Now a day, people have a knowledge about HIV how it causes and the affect of HIV, In
general people have a fear inside they mind about AIDS/HIV and that fear can make people
realize that you need to think more carefully before doing something that will cause
HIV/AIDS and immediately stop doing and start protect themselves from this virus ,but if we
have more comfortable idea of HIV/AIDS the fear will disappear and they will dont care
about things that causes AIDS and they will continue doing a unprotected sexual activities,
shared needle and lots of this because they think its a something normal .To protect
AIDS/HIV think carefully before doing something think about the affect that will cause you
after that situation not just having fun without protected remember that Prevention before
bad things happen is more stable than prevention after things that already happened.
