From Jennifer Zanni, PT, DScPT

Our tech can ask basic questions regarding the following:

Do you feel that the pt is appropriate for PT or OT services today?
Have there been any changes in the patient's medical status overnight?
Are there any planned procedures or road trips today?

The PT or OT can ask the RN or MD any further questions, but this is a basic start to the day and
helps to identify those patients who need to be seen 1st because of tests and those patients who
need to be held from therapy because they decompensated overnight.

Our current rehab tech is highly trained and educated- he is applying now for med school, so he
also also is knowledgeable to ask the nurses about pressor trends and vent weaning, but most
rehab techs would not necessarily have this knowledge.
