used.Therearemanyofyouthathavecomeacrosswordsthathave

lessonplan.Theybothemphasizedtheimportanceoflettingstudentsmakethelearningexperiencetheir
ownandencouragingthemtobecreativewiththeirwork.Thatisourgoalwithlettingeachstudentcreate
theirownfoldablethatwillbeuniquetothem.Theyalsostressedtheimportanceofsentencebuildingand
changingthecomplexityofsentencestobetterfitthemeaningortheyaretryingtogetacross.Thisis
valuabletoourworksheetwehaveforthestudentsbecauseitrequiresthemtochangethesentencetofit
thecontractionscriteriaweareaskingfor.

ThesecondarticlewereadwasabouttheimportanceofthemannerinwhichyouteachESLclasses.It
discussestheimportanceofcorrectinggrammaticalerrorsearlyonwithoutoverwhelmingstudentstothe
pointthattheydonotenjoyorwanttolearnthematerial.Overall,wefeltthiswasvaluabletouswhen
planningourlessonbecauseonethingwewereveryconcernedwithwashowandinwhatwayshouldwe
teachthesestudents.Wedidnotwanttomakethelessontooeasyforthemandtobeoffendedbecause
wedidnotassesstheirlevelcorrectly,butwealsodidnotwanttomakealessonthatwastoodifficultfor
themandmakethemfeeloverwhelmedandfrustratedbecauseofwhatwasbeingaskedofthem.
