From working in busy and often hostile clubs and bars am mindful of the safety for myself and others. As teacher I was
aware of safety procedures such as being first into the room and last out, ensuring eye contact with students, avoiding
turning back to write on the board for too long or assisting individual students for extended periods. I endeavor in
maintaining a physically clear classroom.

Attached Focus area 4.2 are the some of the protocols to reports issues or incidents to appropriate personnel. At both
placements the schools displayed a rubric for the expectations. Attached is the Altona P-9 Colleges Our School
Expectation rubric which explains in a visual way the school discipline and welfare policy and positive welfare practices
ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.

At the beginning of each class I marked rolls, recording student attendance, absence and student safety concerns.

The National Safe Schools Framework defines the nine key elements of a safe and supportive learning community. The Safe
Schools Toolkit is arranged around the nine elements,
