The following lesson plan is on a class where students receive an assessment where they must create a game that
encompasses different sports and
activities from around the world. Students will present their project in pairs in the last class of the unit, being graded on their presentation and what their peers thought of their game. Below the lesson plan is the assignment sheet and the assessment rubric for the project. *The projects were simply worked on in class and presented.
The lesson Duration is 72 minutes with students requiring 5 minutes at the end of class to start writing their reflection on the class and what they learnt.

What? Students creating their own games using games that they currently know of or participate in.
Why? To investigate what it takes to create a game, and further implement it within a population.
How? Through students creating their own games and presenting them to the class.
Introduce students to the assessment going through in depth the assignment sheet and how the assessment rubric will work. Students then pick a partner, groups of three are allowed if there isnt enough, with students then working together to create their own game and thinking about how they can present the information.
Students could present the game through -A Poster - A Brochure - A video - A PowerPoint presentation
Create a Game Assessment (40mins) *ensure that students are given help in creating their game and that the teacher can be easily accessed throughout the class.
The students then have time out of class to work on their activities and find ways that they can present the game that they create.
The create a game assessment task requires students to investigate different games and activities and apply them to a game they create.
This activity attempts to stimulate inquiry and helps to build presentation skills, as the students will be presenting their game to the rest of the class.
