The following lesson plan is on a class where students receive an assessment where they must create a game that

encompasses different sports and

activities from around the world. Students will present their project in pairs in the last class of the unit, being graded on their presentation and what their
peers thought of their game.
Below the lesson plan is the assignment sheet and the assessment rubric for the project.
*The projects were simply worked on in class and presented.

The lesson Duration is 72 minutes with students requiring 5 minutes at the end of class to start writing their reflection on the class and what they learnt.

in.

Why? To
investigate what
it takes to create
a game, and
further
implement it
within a

How? Through
students creating
their own games
and presenting

how the assessment
rubric will work.
Students then pick a
partner, groups of three
are allowed if there isnt
enough, with students
then working together to
create their own game
and thinking about how
they can present the
information.

Students could present
the game through
-A Poster

Create a Game
Assessment
(40mins)
*ensure that students are
given help in creating
their game and that the
teacher can be easily
accessed throughout the
class.

The students then have time
out of class to work on their
activities and find ways that
they can present the game
that they create.

The create a game
assessment task
requires students to
investigate different
games and activities
and apply them to a
game they create.

This activity attempts
to stimulate inquiry
and helps to build
presentation skills, as
the students will be
presenting their game
to the rest of the class.
